Hive. She makes sure that we are the hands and feet

Community Garden at The Bee
Hive - Our latest mission initiative got
started when a few green thumbs started talking after church. That
conversation has resulted in a community garden that is starting to bear
fruit...green beans actually. Tomatoes, eggplant, okra, yellow and zucchini
squash and other plants are in bloom. The ultimate goal is to produce
healthy vegetables that can be shared with families in need. McKemie Place
and Family Promise are just two of the many avenues being explored. A
remote corner of an unpaved parking area is now put to work for God's
Kingdom purposes and creativity abounds. Fencing has been salvaged during
neighborhood trash days. Rainwater is collected from the roof of an
adjacent law office. Leaves and lawn clippings are being mulched to enrich
the soil. Bamboo poles are gathered to support the beans. Here is an
example of how willing hands and cheerful hearts can do something to satisfy
the bellies of nearby families because a "good idea" was put into action.
